Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 2026
Welcome to the digital gallery of the House of MAKTOUB (maktoub.shop). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our platform, including any digital interactions, communication channels, and the acquisition of our limited-edition pieces.
By entering our site or initiating an acquisition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy & Discretion Policy. Please read them with deliberate attention.
1. General Conditions & Brand Philosophy
The House of MAKTOUB operates as a digital fashion house. We reserve the right to refuse service, limit quantities, or decline acquisitions to any individual at our absolute discretion to preserve the integrity and exclusive nature of our drops.
-
Eligibility: By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence.
-
Modifications: The House reserves the right to quietly update, alter, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates directly to our platform. It remains your responsibility to review this page periodically.
2. Acquisitions, Editions, & Pricing
Each piece offered by the House is a curated work of art, subject to strict structural conditions:
-
Terminology: In accordance with our brand system, the act of purchase is referred to as an "Acquisition," the products as "the work" or "the piece," and sold-out states as "CLOSED."
-
Pricing: All prices are displayed in United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED) unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any moment without prior notice before an acquisition is completed.
-
No Commercial Resale: Pieces acquired from MAKTOUB are intended solely for personal collections. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the work, or resell our limited-edition pieces for commercial gain without explicit written consent from the House.
3. Order Limits & Scarcity
To respect the intentional scarcity of our collections:
-
We reserve the right to limit the quantity of any piece or edition (Standard, Collector, Museum) acquired per individual, household, or order.
-
These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address.
-
In the event that we must cancel or modify an acquisition, we will attempt to notify you via the email or WhatsApp contact details provided at the time the order was initiated.
4. Payment & Billing Integrity
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all acquisitions made at our store.
-
Payment Gateways: All transactions are processed through highly secure, encrypted third-party portals.
-
Cash on Delivery (COD): For UAE and GCC patrons utilizing our COD service, you agree to provide a valid, active phone number (for WhatsApp verification) and to ensure a recipient is physically present to complete the cash or mobile card payment at the scheduled time of delivery.
5. Intellectual Property & Sacred Calligraphy
All content, imagery, product designs, narrative text, and specifically the custom Arabic calligraphy vector files and brand marks displayed on this platform are the exclusive intellectual property of MAKTOUB.
-
Strict Protection: The Arabic calligraphy utilized in our designs represents our sacred brand identity. You may not copy, download, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer our designs, logo, or assets under any circumstances. Any unauthorized use of our intellectual property will be met with immediate legal action in accordance with UAE federal laws.
6. Limitation of Liability
The House of MAKTOUB, our directors, officers, employees, or artisans shall not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind—including lost profits, lost revenue, or replacement costs—arising from your use of our service or any pieces acquired through the platform.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the local laws of the Emirate of Dubai, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
