The House & The Philosophy

What is the meaning behind MAKTOUB?

MAKTOUB (مكتب) translates from Arabic to: "It was always written." We operate not as a conventional retail brand, but as a digital fashion house and a living archive. Our pieces are physical manifestations of destiny, rendered through the sacred art of calligraphy.

How do the "Drops" function?

We do not hold permanent inventory. Our work is revealed in chronological chapters known as Drops. Each piece within a drop is produced in strictly limited, numbered quantities. Once an edition is marked CLOSED, it will never be printed, embroidered, or reproduced again.

The Work: Sizing & Care

How do the garments fit?

The silhouette of our Drop 001 pieces is tailored with a quiet, structured drape. Crafted from 300–320 GSM combed cotton, they offer a substantial weight that holds its form as a sculptural object.

We recommend acquiring your standard size for a structured, classic luxury fit. For a slightly more relaxed, editorial silhouette, select one size up. A precise size matrix is available quietly during the acquisition process in Act VI.

How should I care for the metallic puff print and gold embroidery?

To preserve the integrity of the water-based metallic gold screen print, the 3D puff detailing, and the hand-finished gold chain-stitching, the piece must be treated with care:

  • Wash exclusively inside-out in cold water on a delicate cycle.

  • Avoid tumble drying entirely. Lay the piece flat to dry in a shaded area.

  • Never iron directly over the calligraphy or the cast antique-gold seal. If ironing is necessary, iron the garment inside-out on the lowest heat setting.

The Editions & Rarity

What is the difference between Standard, Collector, and Museum editions?

To honor different depths of appreciation, our works are divided into three tiers:

  • STANDARD: The complete, uncompromised garment delivered in our custom black presentation box.

  • COLLECTOR: The garment accompanied by a physical, hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity sealed in hot black wax.

  • MUSEUM: A highly restricted tier. The garment features an individually numbered, hand-stitched digital archive tag, accompanied by a custom certified document verifying your specific unit sequence (e.g., 01 of 50).

Can I reserve a specific number for a Museum edition?

Because we value absolute impartiality in destiny, the specific serial numbers of the Museum editions are assigned randomly at the exact millisecond of checkout. We cannot reserve specific numbers for collectors.

Acquisition & Transit

Which payment methods does the House accept?

We accept all major global credit cards, Apple Pay, and local GCC payment portals. For patrons within the United Arab Emirates and select GCC regions, we also support discreet Cash on Delivery (COD).

How long will it take for my piece to arrive?

  • Dubai & UAE: Delivery is completed next-day via our dedicated messenger service.

  • GCC Region: Express air-transit takes 2 to 4 business days.

  • International: DHL Express shipping takes 3 to 7 business days.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return or exchange a piece?

Because of the highly limited nature of our editions and the fact that we do not maintain standing inventory, all acquisitions are final. We cannot support traditional returns or exchanges once a piece has been shipped.

If your piece arrives with a rare structural defect, please contact our concierge via WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery. We will immediately examine your case and, if verified, dispatch a replacement from our strictly reserved archive of vault units.
